Phoenix Coyotes Tickets Information
When, in 1979, the WHA folded, the Jets were one of 4 teams admitted to the rival league, the NHL. It was only 17 years later, in 1996, when the team pulled up roots and moved to Arizona where they became the Phoenix Coyotes we know them to be today.
Playing home games at Jobing.com Arena (once known as Glendale Arena) in Glendale, Arizona, the Phoenix Coyotes are coached by none other than hockey legend, hockey hall of famer (and team co-owner) Wayne Gretzky. Known as "The Great One", Gretzky won 4 Stanley Cups (with the Edmonton Oilers), 9 Most Valuable Player awards, and 10 scoring titles. He set 40 records in the regular season, 15 in the playoffs, and 6 in the All-Stars. And he is the only player in NHL history to have scored more than 200 points in a single season.
The bottom line - watch out Coyotes fans and foes alike! - because you've never seen them like this before. Watch how Gretzky utilizes key players like team captain Shane Doan ("The Last Jet"), 1994 first overall draft pick Ed Jovanovski, and young players such as Kyle Turris and Mikkel Boedker.
The Coyotes are backstopped by goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, He joined the team in 2007 after spending years as J.S. Giguere’s backup in Anaheim and has performed admirably since. The team has put many new pieces in front of him during the offseason, including acquiring defensemen Adrian Aucoin, Jim Vandermeer, and Dmitri Kalinin, as well as forwards Scottie Upshall, Petr Prucha and Matthew Lombardi.
Under Gretzky's leadership and the backing of a team with a long legacy, there's no telling what the new and improved Coyotes can do. Only time and Phoenix Coyotes tickets will tell.
