Jacksonville Jaguars Tickets Information

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of 4 teams in the American Football Conference South Division (AFC South) – along with the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans - and one of 16 teams in the AFC which in turn is one of the two conferences in the National Football League (NFL).

The team known fondly to its fans as “Jags”, the Jacksonville Jaguars joined the NFL in 1995 as an expansion team, along with Carolina Panthers. At that time, they became part of the AFC Central Division, but switched to the AFC South Division in 2002. Before the switch, however, they were AFC Central Division champions twice consecutively (in 1998 and 1999).

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of five NFL teams never to have appeared in a Super Bowl, the others being the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Houston Texans, and the New Orleans Saints. Along with the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans, they are one of the only three teams never to have played in any NFL championships, including Super Bowls. Nor have they ever won a conference championship, though they have appeared in two.

The Jacksonville Jaguars play their home games at the 67,000+ seat Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, aka ALLTELL Stadium, in Jacksonville, Florida. The team uniform colors are teal, gold, black, and white. Their mascot is Jaxson de Ville, a shades-wearing jaguar, wearing jersey number “00”.

They are currently under the leadership of head coach Jack Del Rio who has been in this role since 2003, replacing the team’s only other head coach Tom Coughlin. Before that, he was on the coaching and administrative staff of the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints. Jack Del Rio also has a rich NFL history as a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and New Orleans Saints.

A number of Jaguars have earned their way into the pro football history books, including retired offensive lineman Tony Boselli. To date the Jacksonville Jaguars are among only 2 teams – the others being the Houston Texans – to never have a former member (player, coach, or owner) inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

The Jaguars have, however, established their own Hall of Fame, named the Pride of the Jaguars, unveiled in 2006 with the first, and so far only, inductee being left tackle Tony Boselli. It was suggested by Wayne Weaver, owner of the Jaguars, that the second player who will probably be enshrined in the Pride of the Jaguars might be former wide receiver Jimmy Smith.

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished out 2008/2009 with a .313 regular season record (5 wins, 11 losses). Get your Jacksonville Jaguars tickets and see if they can make 2009/2010 a winning season.
