Cirque du Soleil is best described as a dreamscape - or by some other term evocative of the unreal made manifest. To call it a circus would be as incomplete and somehow off the mark as to call it theater. Whatever it is, Cirque du Soleil in all its myriad incarnations has delighted audiences of all ages and backgrounds for more than a dozen years now - and Cirque du Soleil tickets are more popular than ever.

Cirque du Soleil Tickets Information
Started by a pair of barely twenty something street performers in Montreal, Quebec in large part, in answer to a call by the government of Quebec to create a spectacular celebratory event in honor of the 450th anniversary of French explorer Jackque Cartier's arrival in Canada. Thus was Cirque du Soleil born and it's first event, Le Grand Tour unleashed on the unsuspecting world.
Like theater, every Cirque du Soleil performance has a loose storyline, more a unifying theme than an out-and-out narrative. And like the circus, it features a level of athletic mastery that surpasses anything elsewhere or previously seen. And like both the theater and the circus, Cirque du Soleil is a feast for the eyes and ears, with dazzling sets, costumes, and effects.
At any given Cirque du Soleil performance you can count on being treated to a splendid array of acrobats, contortionists, jugglers, clowns, dancers, singers, and other artists attempting feats bordering on the impossible.
Recruiting talent from the farthest reaches of the globe, each Cirque du Soleil incarnation incorporates a unique theme, design concept, story thread, and composer.
Many Cirque du Soleil shows tour around the world, including:
- Alegria ('joy', 'jubilation', one of their most popular productions, about "the misuse of power")
- Quidam ('a certain one/thing', 'anonymous passerby', the whimsical imaginings of sad and forlorn young Zoe)
- Dralion (on the clash between East and West)
- Varekai ('wherever', "an acrobatic tribute to the nomad soul")
- Corteo ('cortege', "a festive parade imagined by a clown")
Other favorite Cirque du Soleil shows of times gone by include: Nouvelle Experience, Fascination, Le Cirque Reinvente, and La Magie Continue.
Others are rooted in one place, designed specifically for and around the site to make optimum use of each unique space, including (all in Las Vegas, Nevada except where mentioned):
- Mystere - a calvacade of interactive surprises at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, boasts the company's most popular soundtrack
- "O"- an aquatic wonderworld at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino
- La Nouba - meaning 'to party' or 'to live it up', this is the most circus-like of their performances, held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida
- Zumanity - an adult themed, cabaret-ish human zoo at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino
- KA - the most straightforward and narrative of their productions, this is a departure for the team, a more Vegas-like production that takes place on a floating stage at the MGM Grand
- Love - a modern Beatles tribute at the Mirage
- Kooza - this production is focused around The Innocent, "a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world"
- Saltimbanco - a favorite of their shows from the past, they've revived this high-intensity, acrobatic event centered on the pulse of the city, "the urban fabric of the metropolis".
Upcoming on the
Cirque du Soleil repertoire will be:
- Vaudeville In Chicago – a contemporary twist on Vaudeville with the fusion of classic theatre and modern styles.
There are no shortage of incarnations of the Cirque du Soleil to see, each one a world unto its own. To experience each of them for yourself, gather up your Cirque du Soleil tickets and you'll be on your way.
