Carolina Panthers Tickets Information
The Carolina Panthers are one of 4 teams in the National Football Conference South Division (NFC South) – along with the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers – and one of 16 teams in the NFC which in turn is one of the two conferences in the National Football League (NFL).
The team known fondly to its fans as “The Cardiac Cats”, the Panthers were formed in 1993 and have been playing pro football as part of the NFL since joining – along with the Jacksonville Jaguars – as an expansion team in 1995.
When the Carolina Panthers first joined the NFL it was as part of the NFC West Division. Before switching to the NFC South Division in 2001, the Panthers picked up the 1996 NFC West Division Championship title. Since joining the NFC South they have won 2 NFC South Division championships and 1 NFC conference championship. The Carolina Panthers have yet to win an NFL Championship or a Super Bowl. They made it to one Super Bowl (XXXVIII) in 2004 but lost to the New England Patriots 32-29.
Except for their first year in the NFL, 1995, when they played home games at the notorious Frank Howard Field at Memorial Stadium in Clemson (better known as “Death Valley”), the Carolina Panthers have been playing all their home games at the 73,000+ seat Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina (known also for a time as Ericsson Stadium). The team uniform colors are Panther blue, silver, and black, and the mascot is Sir Purr.
They are currently under the leadership of head coach John Fox who has been in this role since 2002. Before that, he was on the coaching and administrative staffs of the New York Giants, the St. Louis Rams, the Los Angeles Raiders, the San Diego Chargers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A number of Panthers have earned their way into the pro football history books, including NFL Hall of Famer defensive end/tackle Reggie White (2000; inducted 2006), and Hall of Honor Members retired #51 Sam Mills (linebacker; 1995-97) and Mike McCormack (offensive tackle; 1954-62).
The Carolina Panthers finished out 2008/2009 with a .750 regular season record (12 wins, 4 losses). Get your Carolina Panthers tickets and see if they can enjoy more success this year.
