Anaheim Ducks Tickets Information
Under new owners now, Broadcom's co-founder Henry Samueli and his wife Susan, and with head coach Randy Carlyle, former James Norris Memorial Trophy winner, player for 17 seasons on the Winnipeg Jets (and co-captain from 1989-91), the Pittsburgh Penguins (and captain from 1981-84), and the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as a four-time NHL All-Star, there's no telling what the Anaheim Ducks are capable of now.
Especially with team captain Scott Niedermayer in command. Considered one of the league's top defencemen, Niedermayer came to the Ducks in 2005 after playing all 12 of his prior seasons with the NHL (and winning 3 Stanley Cups) with the New Jersey Devils. He's also played to great acclaim in 4 All-Star games and helped the Ducks win the Stanley Cup in 2006 and 2007. Another crowning achievement is his contributions to Team Canada’s gold medal win in Salt Lake City at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
This last season, 2008-2009, Niedermayer had another successful campaign, playing all 82 games and finishing with 59 points, as well as regaining the captaincy of the team from Chris Pronger, now of the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Ducks have had a very busy offseason, retooling their team after a second round defeat to the eventual Wastern Conference Champion Detroit Red Wings. Although the emergence of Jonas Hiller as a legitimate replacement to J.S. Giguere has excited the fan base, the Ducks needed to make moves in order to make a deeper push in the playoffs. The Ducks have added long-time Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu and also signed a familiar face in Joffrey Lupul, who was drafted by the team in 2002. They also said goodbye to the aforementioned Chris Pronger. He will be replaced by former Florida Panther Nick Boynton.
Although Anaheim boasts a potent group of forwards in Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan, Teemu Selanne is a great reason to see the Anaheim Ducks play live. This Finnish wonder who has seemed to find the fountain of youth as of late has played for the Winnipeg Jets, the San Jose Sharks, and the Colorado Avalanche before coming to Anaheim. His rookie year, 1993, Selanne won the Calder Memorial Trophy, going on to win the Rocket Richard Trophy in 1999 for most goals scored, and the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy in 2006 for exemplifying sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication to hockey.
Whether you live near their home in Honda Center (once Anaheim Arena and the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) or on the other side of the continent, Anaheim Ducks tickets are available now for chances to see these powerhouse players do their thing near you, so don't miss out.
