St. Louis Cardinals Tickets Information

Nicknamed "The Redbirds" and "The Cards", the St. Louis Cardinals are a Major League Baseball team established in 1882, and based in St. Louis, Missouri. The St. Louis Cardinals are 1 of 6 teams - along with the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Houston Astros, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Chicago Cubs - that play in the Central Division of the 16-team National League.

Until a few years ago, the St. Louis Cardinals had played their home games at Busch Memorial Stadium, but as of 2006 they now call the new and improved Busch Stadium III (or the New Busch Stadium) as home. The team conducts Spring Training at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida (the same as the Florida Marlins) as part of the Grapefruit League. The team uniform colors are cardinal red, navy blue, and white.

The Cards have an ongoing in-league rivalry with the Chicago Cubs, known as the I-55 Series, and they have an ongoing interleague rivalry with fellow-Missourians the Kansas City Royals, known as the I-70 Series or the Show-Me Series. They also have steady rivals in the Houston Astros, who finished 2nd this past season, right behind the Cardinals.

In their career, the St. Louis Cardinals have won 1 Wild Card Berth (in 2001), 7 Central Division titles (their first in 1996, their last in 2006), and 17 National League pennants (their first in 1926, their last in 2006).

They've played in 17 World Series, the 3rd most in Major League Baseball (tied with the San Francisco Giants), and they have won 10, second most in the MLB behind the NY Yankees: their first in 1926 against the Yanks, and their last in 2006 against the Detroit Tigers.

The St. Louis Cardinals have a number of legends in their current and previous rosters, including Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Tom Pagnozzi, Terry Pendleton, Keith Hernandez, Ken Boyer, Curt Flood, and Bill White.

No fewer than 25 MLB players have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame at least in part due to their performance with the St. Louis Cardinals, and the team has seen 17 of their number named Major League Baseball's MVP of the Year.

In 2008, the St. Louis Cardinals finished 4th in the division, with 86 wins and 76 losses. Make sure you get your St. Louis Cardinals tickets and you can find out firsthand whether this team can improve this year.
