Cincinnati Reds Tickets Information

The Cincinnati Reds are a Major League Baseball team established in 1882, and based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cincinnati Reds are 1 of 6 teams - along with the St. Louis Cardinals, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Houston Astros, and the Chicago Cubs - that play in the Central Division of the 16-team National League.

After playing home games at Riverfront Stadium for 32 years, in 2003 the Cincinnati Reds moved to their new home at the Great American Ballpark. The team conducts Spring Training at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida as part of the Grapefruit League. The team uniform colors are red and white with black trim.

The Reds have an ongoing interleague rivalry with the Cleveland Indians played out each year in the Buckeye Series (also known as the Battle for Ohio).

In their career, the Cincinnati Reds have not won any Wild Card Berths, but they have won a Central Division title (in 1995) and before that 7 West Division titles (their last in 1990). In addition, the Reds have won 9 National League pennants (their first in 1919, their last in 1990). Between 1919 and 1995 they've competed in 12 playoffs.

They've played in 9 World Series and won 5: their first in 1919 against the Chicago White Sox and most recently in 1990 against the Oakland A's.

On Opening Day of 2006, the first pitch was thrown by George W. Bush, the first sitting president ever to do so.

The Cincinnati Reds have a number of legends in their previous rosters, including Triple Crown pitcher Bucky Walters, member of the 500 Home Run Club Ken Griffey, Jr., multiple-time Gold Glove winners Pokey Reese, Barry Larkin, and Eric Davis, and 12 MVPs of the Year, including Pete Rose and 2-time winners Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench.

Overall, 32 former players on the Cincinnati Reds have been inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame, including 7 who played more games with the Reds than any other MLB team.

In 2008, the Cincinnati Reds finished 5th in the division, posting 74 wins and 88 losses. That makes this their 9th consecutive losing season, a streak that's destined to be broken any season now. And with your Cincinnati Reds tickets in hand, you can be there to watch as they try to make 2009 the one.
