Atlanta Braves Tickets Information

The Atlanta Braves are a Major League Baseball team established in 1871, and based in Atlanta, Georgia since 1966. They started out as a Boston team and went through 7 incarnations (as the Red Stockings, Beaneaters, Doves, Rustlers, Bees, and two stints as the Boston Braves) before becoming the Milwaukee Braves for the dozen years between 1953 and 1965.

The Atlanta Braves are 1 of 5 teams - along with the Florida Marlins, the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Washington Nationals - that play in the East Division of the 16-team National League.

Since 1997 the Atlanta Braves have played their home games at Turner Field, and they conduct Spring Training at Disney's Wide World of Sports' Cracker Jack Stadium in Lake Buena Vista, Florida as part of the Grapefruit League. The team uniform colors are garnet red, navy blue, and white.

In their career, the Atlanta Braves have won 16 divisional titles: 5 in the West Division (their first in 1969 and their last in 1993) and 11 in the East Division, every year from 1995 to 2005. And though they've won no Wild Card Berths to date, they've captured 9 National League pennants (their first in 1914, their last in 1999). Between 1914 and 2005 they've competed in 20 playoffs.

They've played in 9 World Series and won 3: in 1914 against the Philadelphia A's, in 1957 against the New York Yankees, and in 1995 against the Cleveland Indians.

A team so good you can imagine would have many fierce rivals, and the Atlanta Braves are no exception, with the Florida Marlins, the New York Yankees, the New York Mets, the Houston Astros, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Boston Red Sox, and the Washington Nationals all counting themselves rivals of the team.

Though in the franchise's history dozens of former players have made it to the Baseball Hall of Fame, 8 have played with the team under its current name, the Atlanta Braves, namely: Hank Aaron, Orlando Cepeda, Eddie Matthews, Phil Niekro, Gaylord Perry, Bruce Sutter, Matt Sutton, and Hoyt Wilhelm.

In 2008, the Atlanta Braves finished fourth in the division, posting 72 wins and 90 losses. Purchase your Atlanta Braves tickets right away and be there to see how well they fare this year.
