San Francisco Giants Tickets Information

The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball team established in 1883, and based in San Francisco, California since 1958. Before that, from 1885 to 1957, they were the New York Giants, originating in 1883 as the New York Gothams.

The San Francisco Giants are 1 of 5 teams - along with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the San Diego Padres - that play in the West Division of the 16-team National League.

Since 2000 the San Francisco Giants have played their home games at AT&T Park (also known as SBC Park and Pacific Bell Park), and they conduct Spring Training at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Arizona as part of the Cactus League. The team uniform colors are orange and black.

The San Francisco Giants have ongoing rivalries with their California brethren in the MLB: in-league rivalries with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, and an interleague rivalry known as the Bay Bridge Series with the Oakland A's.

In their career, the Giants (San Francisco and New York combined) have won 1 Wild Card Berth (in 2002), 6 Western Division titles (their first in 1971, their last in 2003), and 20 National League pennants (their first in 1888, their last in 2002).

The Giants (again San Francisco and New York combined) are tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for appearing in the 3rd most World Series games in MLB history, with 17 (second place going to the Los Angeles Dodgers, with 18, and the winner being the New York Yankees, with 39). Of those 17 World Series, they lost 12 and won 5: mostly recently way back in 1954 against the Cleveland Indians.

The San Francisco Giants have a number of legends in their previous rosters, including 2 of only 4 players to have achieved 600 home runs in their major league career: Willie Mays and Barry Bonds. Bonds is also 1 of only 3 players to have achieved 700.

Overall, 10 pitchers and 19 other players on San Francisco Giants have been inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame on the basis of their performance with the Giants, an additional 23 Hall of Famers having spent at least part of their careers on the team.

In 2008, the San Francisco Giants finished 4th place in the division, posting 72 wins and 90 losses. The competition is so evenly matched in the West Division that people are just scrambling to sweep up all the San Francisco Giants tickets they can. Get yours before it's too late.
