Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tickets Information

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Anaheim are a Major League Baseball team established in 1961, and based in Los Angeles California. Starting out as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim , they became the California Angels for the 34 years between 1965 and 1996 before a brief renaming as the Anaheim Angels until 2005 when they became the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Anaheim that we know them to be today, though everyone still calls them simply the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim .

The Angels are 1 of 4 teams - along with the Oakland Athletics, the Texas Rangers, and the Seattle Mariners - that play in the West Division of the 14-team American League. They won the first Major League Baseball game they ever played, 7-2, against the Baltimore Orioles on April 11, 1961.

Since 2004 the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have played their home games at Angel Stadium of Anaheim (once known as Edison International Field and before that Anaheim Stadium), and they conduct Spring Training at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona as part of the Cactus League. The uniform colors are navy blue, silver, red, and dark red.

The Angels have an ongoing in-league rivalry with the New York Yankees and an interleague rivalry known as the Freeway Series with close neighbors the Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League.

In 2002, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won their only Wild Card Berth, American League pennant, and World Series title. They also won 7 Western Division titles (their first in 1979, their last in 2008). Between 1979 and 2009 they've competed in 8 playoffs. Their 2002 win against the San Francisco Giants was their only World Series appearance.

The LA Angels have a number of legends in their previous rosters, including Mark Langston, Darin Erstad, Jim Edmonds, Devon White, Bob Boone, and Major League Baseball's all-time strikeout king Nolan Ryan, as well as one of the latest baseball greats to shine from the Pacific Coast Vladimir Guerrero.

Although none of the former Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim who have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame have elected to show the team's logo on their plaque, 10 Hall of Famers have spent part of their career with the team.

In 2008, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim finished first in the division, posting 100 wins and 62 losses. Get a hold of your Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tickets ASAP and catch them as they try to steal the top spot again this year.
