Widespread Panic Tickets Information

Widespread Panic started as the brainchild of Michael Houser (now deceased) and John "JB" Bell, who met in college at the University of George, Athens, and started playing music with each other. Two years into the friendship and musical partnership, David Schools joined the mix, and the trio started presenting themselves as "Panic", Houser's nickname at the time. On February 24, 1985, the band played their first show under their current name.

Today's Widespread Panic lineup boasts:

In stores now is the latest Widespread Panic release, Choice Cuts: The Capricorn Years, 14 band-selected singles from 1991 to 1999 their years with Capricorn Records.

What makes a Widespread Panic show different from all other shows, is that every Widespread Panic show is different from one another too. No two Widespread Panic shows are alike as the band is committed to never playing the same show twice. Before each night's show, they determine the set-list based on what they've played over the previous 3 performances, waiting to pick the 2nd sets list until the intermission after their 1st set.

And not only do they change up the playlists, but the jam-sessions that fill up the midsections of so many of their songs are improvised anew at each and every performance.

Not only does this make Widespread Panic tours so popular, it also makes their live albums as much of a hit, if not more, than their studio albums. Between 1988 and 2006 Widespread Panic has released 9 studio albums (starting with "Space Wrangler" up through, most recently, "Earth to America") and 7 live albums (starting with "Light Fuse", "Get Away" up through, most recently, "Live at Myrtle Beach").

Widespread Panic has also made several contributions to various benefit albums including, most recently, a cover version of "Crippled Inside" by John Lennon for the widely-publicized album, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.

Widespread Panic is on tour with the Allman Brothers Band. Upcoming shows in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois and many other cities near.

The tour runs through Aubust 21 at Susguehana Bank Center in Camden, New Jesery and wraps up in 10,000 Lakes Festival in Detroit Laks, Minnesota. Then Widespread Panic takes a break from the stage until who knows when? Don't miss out on your chance to see them this year. Get those Widespread Panic tickets ASAP!
