Virginia Tech Hokies Tickets Information

Virginia Tech, formerly of the Big East Conference, joined the ACC in 2004. Virginia Tech's 18 varsity teams (8 women's, 10 men's), including their NCAA football and men's basketball teams, are called the Hokies. The Virginia Tech Hokies football stadium is the 66,000+ capacity Lane Stadium, reputed to be both one of the loudest stadiums in America and the greatest home field advantage. Virginia Tech's basketball arena is the nearly 10,000 capacity Cassell Coliseum. The school colors are burnt orange and "Chicago Maroon".

Football:

The Virginia Tech Hokies football team has won 1 Southern Conference championship (in 1963), 3 Big East Conference championships (in 1995, 1996, and 1999) and, in 2004, their first ACC Championship. 2007 and 2008 saw the Hokies win two more ACC Championships, and defeat Cincinnati to win the Orange Bowl. Since 1993, the Virginia Tech Hokies have made it to the postseason every season, finishing out 4 of those seasons with a ranking in the Top 10. They made it to the national championships once, losing to the Florida State Seminoles in the 2000 Sugar Bowl.

Neighbors often make the best rivals, which helps explain the bitter in-state rivalry between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Virginia Cavaliers for the Commonwealth Cup. The Hokies also have a long-running football rivalry with the Miami Hurricanes that goes as far back as when the two teams used to be part of the Big East Conference together.

Two former Virginia Tech Hokies have been first round NFL draft picks: Bruce Smith to the Buffalo Bills in 1985, and Michael Vick to the Atlanta Falcons in 2001. At least 14 other former Hokies have gone on to play in the NFL.

Current head coach Frank Beamer, a Virginia Tech alumnus and former Hokies defensive back, is now entering his 23rd year as head coach. Get your Virginia Tech Hokies tickets fast and see how Beamer and his team excel this year.

Men's Basketball:

The Virginia Tech Hokies basketball team has yet to win an Atlantic Coast Conference championship, but that only fuels head coach Seth Greenberg to push his team even harder. Since coach Greenberg took over, the Hokies helm in 2003, the team has come a long way, seeing in 2005 their first postseason bid since 1996, making it to the 2nd round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Get your Virginia Tech Hokies tickets today and see how far these newly revitalized ACC contenders can take themselves this year.
