Van Morrison Tickets Information

Gaining his fame at first as the voice of the band “Them,” Van Morrison went onto a novel and meandering musical path, with half of the songs in his solo catalogue being less songs than pieces of spiritual sonic experimentation and meditation, in a musical derivative of stream-of-consciousness creation.

Van Morrison has won two Grammy Awards, both for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, his first in 1996 with The Chieftans for "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You", and his second in 1998 with John Lee Hooker for "Don’t Look Back". Two of his albums – “Astral Weeks” and “Moondance” – and two of his songs – "Gloria" and "Brown Eyed Girl" – also found their way into The Grammy Hall of Fame.

Number 42 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of “The Immortals,” Van Morrison has also been honored with a BRIT Award, been granted membership by Queen Elizabeth II into the Royal Order of the British Empire, and was the first inductee into the Irish Music Hall of Fame. In 1993, Van Morrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2003 he was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

In his lengthy solo career, Van Morrison has put out 37 albums (not including his seven compilation albums), debuting with 1967’s “Blowin’ Your Mind!”. Among the more acclaimed of his catalogue are 1968’s “Astral Weeks,” 1970’s “Moondance,” 1971’s “Tupelo Honey,” 1978’s “Wavelength,” 1989’s “Avalon Sunset,” 1991’s “Hymns to Silence,” 1993’s “Too Long in Exile,” and 1995’s “Days Like This.”

He also released two consecutive #1 Top Jazz Albums “How Long Has This Been Going On” and “Tell Me Something: The Songs of Mose Allison” both in 1996.

Van Morrison’s most recent release is “Keep it Simple” which came out in 2008 and hit the top 10 on both U.S. and U.K. charts.

Van Morrison’s 2009 U.S tour will be through October 28.
