The Wisconsin Badgers are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for the University of Wisconsin at Madison in Madison, Wisconsin, one of 9 public universities in the Big Ten. They are two of the university's 23 varsity teams and a founding member of the Big Ten conference, since its inception in 1896.

The Wisconsin Badgers play their football home games at the 80,321 seat Camp Randall Stadium and their basketball home games at the 17,142 seat Kohl Center. The team uniform colors are cardinal and white, and the mascot is Bucky the Badger (aka Buckingham U. Badger).

Football:

The Wisconsin Badgers were established back in 1889 and have since achieved a 604-462-53 (.563). They are 10-10 in postseason bowl games and have won 11 conference titles.

Head coach Bret Bielema is entering his 4th year at the helm and has produced a 28-11 record. In 2006, his first year with the team, he led them to a 12-1 overall record and was voted the Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Several NFL players call Wisconsin their alma-mater. They include Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills), Chris Chambers (San Diego Chargers), Owen Daniels (Houston Texans), Joe Thomas (Cleveland Browns) and Jim Leonhard (New York Jets).

The Badgers finished with a 7-6 record in 2008 but look to return to prominence again this year. Tickets are going fast so be sure you’re there to watch the Badgers stomp on their opponents.

Basketball:

Since 2002, head coach Bo Ryan has led the Wisconsin Badgers to the NCAA championship tournament each and every year. As of the close of the 2008-09 season, Coach Ryan's record with the team was a whopping 192-70.

The Wisconsin Badgers have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including the following who've made it to the NBA: Gene Englund (Boston Celtics), Don Rehfeldt (Baltimore Bullets), Chris Steinmetz, Sr. (Milwaukee Bucks), Michael Finley (San Antonio Spurs), and Devin Harris (New Jersey Nets).

Since the Big Ten championship tournament first started in 1998, the Wisconsin Badgers have won 2 Big Ten tournament titles (in 2004 and 2008) and 17 Big Ten regular season titles (most recently in 2008). As part of the Big Ten, they have won 1 NCAA championship title, in 1941 against the Washington State Cougars, 39-34. They also made it to the 2000 Final Four. The Badgers have yet, however, to win an NIT championship.

In 2008-09 the Wisconsin Badgers finished tied for 4th in the conference with a 10-8 (.556) record in the Big Ten and 20-13 (.606) in the NCAA. Get your Wisconsin Badgers tickets now and watch them stomp on the competition this year.
