University of Washington Huskies Tickets Information

The Washington Huskies are one of 10 teams in the Pacific Ten Conference - along with the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, Stanford Cardinal, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, and Washington State Cougars.

The Washington Huskies are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, one of 8 public universities in the Pac-10, and one of 2 from the state of Washington, the other being Washington State University. They are two of the university's 21 varsity teams (10 men's, 11 women's).

The Washington Huskies play their football home games at the 72,500 seat Husky Stadium and their basketball home games at the 10,000 seat Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. The team uniform colors are purple and gold, and the mascot is Harry the Huskies.

Football:

College football has a long and storied history at the University of Washington. Since their inaugural season in 1889, the Huskies have played to a 653-398-50 record, including a postseason bowl record of 18-11-1, 4 claimed national titles, and 15 conference champtionships.

Coach Steve Sarkisian is entering his first year at the helm in Washington. He leaves a job at USC where he was quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He looks to keep Washington’s winning tradition alive and build on the impressive overall record that they have achieved.

Many NFL players call Washington their alma-mater, including Olin Kreutz (Chicago Bears), Reggie Williams and Khalif Barnes (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jerramy Stevens (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Damon Huard (San Francisco 49ers).

Contrary to their winning tradition, The Huskies have struggled mightily since 2002. Since then, they have not had a winning season, and have suffered through 5 straight losing seasons. They are coming off of an 0-12 season in 2008, something which had never happened in the history of the Huskies football program. Be sure to buy your tickets and watch them turn it around.

Basketball:

Currently in his 8th season as head coach of the Washington Huskies is Lorenzo Lamar, formerly head coach at Pepperdine and Saint Louis for 3 seasons each.

The Washington Huskies have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including the following who've made it to the NBA: Ralph Bishop and George Irvine (Denver Nuggets), Will Conroy (Memphis Grizzlies), Bobby Jones and Todd MacCulloch (Philadelphia 76ers), Eldridge Recasner (Los Angeles Clippers), Nate Robinson (New York Knicks), Brandon Roy (Portland Trail Blazers) and Mark Sanford (New Jersey Nets).

Of the 9 Pac-10 championship tournaments that took place since 1987, the Washington Huskies have won 1 Pac-10 tournament title, in 2005, and were the runners-up in 2004. They have won 2 consecutive regular season titles as part of the Athletic Association of Western Universities/Pacific-8/Pacific Ten (AAWU/Pac-8/Pac-10), in 1984 and 1985, and prior to 1960 they won 7 as part of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC). They are also the current regular season champions in the Pac 10. They have yet to win an NCAA championship, but they have made 1 Final Four (in 1953) and 4 Sweet Sixteens (including most recently, in 2006). They have won NIT championships (National Invitation Tournament).

In 2008-09 the Washington Huskies finished 1st in the conference with a 14-4 (.778) record in the Pac-10 and 26-9 (.743) in the NCAA. Get those Washington Huskies tickets fast and see if these contenders can unseat the current champs.
