University of Miami Hurricanes Tickets Information

Miami, formerly of the Big East Conference, joined the ACC in 2004, the same year as Boston College. In fact, Miami has a fierce rivalry with fellow former Big East team, Boston College, dating back to a game in 1984 known as the "Hail Flutie" game.

Miami's 17 varsity teams (10 women's, 7 men's), including their NCAA football and men's basketball teams, are called the Hurricanes. The Miami Hurricanes football stadium is the 74,000+ capacity Miami Orange Bowl, and its basketball arena is the nearly 8,000 capacity BankUnited Center. The school colors are orange, green, and white.

The Miami Hurricanes, predictably, have bitter in-state rivalries with the Florida State Seminoles and the Florida Gators, decided at least in part each year as of 2002 with the Florida Cup.

Football:

The Miami Hurricanes have won 5 national championships, most recently in 2001, more than any other Division I college football team. So although the Miami Hurricanes football team has yet to win an ACC Championship, give them time. They've only just joined the league. But with their prior history of excellence and the way they're looking today, Miami Hurricanes tickets are golden opportunities to watch history in the making.

The Miami Hurricanes have an ongoing football rivalry with the Florida State Seminoles, which makes a whole lot of sense considering the 2 teams are arguably the best in college football. The Hurricanes also have a long-running football rivalry with the Virginia Tech Hokies that goes as far back as when the 2 teams used to be part of the Big East Conference together.

Two former Miami Hurricanes have been declared NFL Super Bowl MVPs: Ottis Anderson, in Super Bowl XXV, and Ray Lewis, in Super Bowl XXXV. Two other former Miami Hurricanes have gone on to win the Heisman Trophy: Vinny Testaverde, in 1986, and Gino Torretta, in 1992. Three former Miami Hurricanes have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Jim Otto, Ted Hendricks, and Jim Kelly. Get your Miami Hurricanes tickets fast and see what players will make or break pro football records next.

Men's Basketball:

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team started seeing real success when they joined the Big East Conference in 1990 under the guidance of Leonard Hamilton (who now coaches the rivaling Florida State Seminoles). From 1998 to 2000, Hamilton led the Hurricanes to 3 consecutive NCAA tournaments.

The 2009-10 season is the Hurricanes' 6th in the Atlantic Coast Conference and they have yet to win an ACC championship. But with head coach Frank Haith at the helm, they still managed to make an impressive appearance in the 2005 National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

Three former Miami Hurricanes are current players in the NBA. One of the most famous former Hurricanes is All-American Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry. With your Miami Hurricanes tickets, you'll be among the first to see the next big, future NBA star in the making.
