The Connecticut Huskies are one of 16 teams in the Big East Conference - along with the Cincinnati Bearcats, DePaul Blue Demons, Georgetown Hoyas, Louisville Cardinals, Marquette Golden Eagles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Pittsburgh Panthers, Providence Friars, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, St. John's Red Storm, Seton Hall Pirates, USF Bulls, Syracuse Orange, Villanova Wildcats, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Connecticut Huskies are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, one of 7 public universities in the Big East.

The UConn Huskies play their football home games at the 40,000 seat Rentschler Field and their basketball home games at the 10,167 seat Harry A Gampel Pavilion (on-campus) and the 16,294 seat Hartford Civic Center. The team uniform colors are "national flag blue and white", and the mascot is the Husky.

Football:

Established in 1896, the Connecticut Huskies football program has an overall record of 464-492-38 (.489) and a 2-1 postseason record. They boast 11 conference titles, their latest in 2007 when they were crowned co-champions of the Big East.

Coach Randy Epsall is entering his 11th year at the helm and has led the team to a 58-60 record. A protégé of Tom Coughlin, head coach of the NFL’s New York Giants, Epsall is responsible for the Huskies’ first division title ever in 2007.

There are 10 current players in the NFL that were former Huskies. This includes Donald Brown (Indianapolis Colts), Darius Butler (New England Patriots) and Dan Orlovsky (Houston Texans).

The UConn Huskies are poised to have a successful season in 2008. Although the football program is not as highly touted as Huskies basketball, the team has had a lot of success since joining the Big East in 2004. Be sure to purchase your Huskies football tickets and watch them write another chapter in Big East history.

Basketball:

The Connecticut Huskies have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including 1 Basketball Hall of Famer, 13 All-Americans, 33 players drafted into the NBA, and the following players currently in the NBA: Ray Allen (Boston Celtics), Caron Butler (Washington Wizards), Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), Charlie Villanueva, Ben Gordon and Richard Hamilton (Detroit Pistons), and Emeka Okafor (New Orleans Hornets).

The Connecticut Huskies have consistently been one of the strongest teams in the NCAA, winning 10 Big East regular season titles (including 2005 and 2006, making them two-time reigning regular season champs), and 6 Big East tournament titles. In their history, they've competed in 29 NCAA championship tournaments.

Since 1986, the Connecticut Huskies have been coached by Jim Calhoun who in that time has led the team to 2 NCAA championship titles (in 1999 and 2004) and the NIT championship in 1988. Calhoun was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005 as a head coach.

In 2009-10 the Connecticut Huskies finished with a 15-3 record in the Big East and 31-5 in the NCAA. In the previous 20 seasons, the Huskies have made it to 8 Elite Eight tournaments. Get your UConn Huskies tickets today and see if they can do it again this year.
