University of Arkansas Razorbacks Tickets Information

All the University of Arkansas' intercollegiate sports teams, including their NCAA football and basketball teams, are called the Razorbacks, though they're also known as the Hogs. Arkansas Razorbacks' NCAA primary football stadium is the 73,000 capacity Razorback Stadium, its secondary football stadium is the 53,000+ capacity War Memorial Stadium, and its basketball arena is the 19,000+ capacity Bud Walton Arena.

Interestingly the University of Arkansas has a strict policy against competing with other NCAA Division 1 teams from schools located in the same state. This means that Arkansas is the only state with 2 or more Division 1 teams who never compete against one another.

Football:

The Razorbacks have a fierce rivalry with the LSU Tigers of Louisiana State University, played out each year on the day after Thanksgiving in The Battle for the Golden Boot, the prize for which is a trophy resembling the outline of Arkansas and Louisiana, and named, predictably, the Golden Boot.

The Razorbacks' permanent rival in the opposing East Division is the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. The Razorbacks' biggest rival, however, in both football and basketball, are the University of Texas Longhorns from the Southwest Conference. As of this writing, the Texas Longhorns are leading in football while the Arkansas Wildcats are leading in men's basketball.

In 1964 the Razorbacks became the only NCAA football team to have an undefeated regular season plus a bowl game.

The current Arkansas Razorbacks football coach is Bobby Petrino, former coach of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, and offensive coordinator for several other college football teams.

Many former Razorbacks went on to achieve major league success, not the least of whom was Pat Summerall, 10-year NFL veteran. Other NFL teams that have had former Arkansas Razorbacks on the roster include: the San Diego Chargers, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Detroit Lions, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Chicago Bears, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Seattle Seahawks, and others. Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys was also once on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Get your Arkansas Razorbacks tickets today and see who'll become the next big names making their move from college football to the major leagues.

Basketball:

Of all the schools in the Southeastern Conference, the University of Arkansas, along with Vanderbilt University and the University of Kentucky, places the heaviest emphasis on basketball. The University of Kentucky Wildcats are, in fact, the Arkansas Razorbacks' fiercest men's basketball rivals. The Arkansas Razorbacks have had 6 Final Four appearances, most recently in 1995.

Arkansas has won 1 National Men's Basketball title, against Duke University in 1994. They've also won 2 Southeastern Conference regular season basketball titles, the last in 1994, and 1 Southeastern Conference Championship, in 2000.

The Razorbacks men's basketball team is currently being coached by former Southern Alabama coach John Pelphrey, who came to Arkansas with an 80-67 record. Pelphrey is probably best known for being a former star basketball player at the University of Kentucky from 1989-1992.

Many former Razorbacks went on to play in the NBA for teams like: the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs, the Sacramento Kings, the Toronto Raptors, the Washington Wizards, the Philadelphia 76ers and more.

With your Arkansas Razorbacks tickets you'll be among the first to see who makes the next leap from the NCAA to the NBA.
