The University of Alabama’s NCAA football and basketball teams are called the Crimson Tide. The University of Alabama 's football stadium is the 92,000+ capacity Bryant-Denny Stadium, named in part for legendary head coach of 25 years, Bear Bryant. The school's basketball arena is the 15,000+ capacity Coleman Coliseum. The Tide's colors are crimson and white.

Football:

The University of Alabama has taken 14 National NCAA Football Titles, though the school only officially claimed 12, the last in 1992, making them one of the top college football programs of all time. They've also taken 21 Southeastern Conference Titles, the most of any team in the conference, winning their most recent one in 1999.

The Alabama Crimson Tide has a fierce rivalry with the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University, played out each year in the heated Iron Bowl, the prize for which is the coveted ODK-James E. Foy V Sportsmanship Trophy. They also have an intra-division rivalry with the LSU Tigers (aka Louisiana State University).

The Crimson Tide's permanent rival in the opposing East Division is the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Their battle is played out each year at the 3rd Saturday in October, named for the game itself even though it's no longer necessarily played on the 3rd Saturday in October every year.
