Texas A&M University Aggies Tickets Information

The Texas A&M Aggies are one of 12 teams in the Big 12 Conference and one of 6 - along with the Baylor Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Tech Red Raiders - that play in the South Division.

They are one of 4 teams from the state of Texas in the Big 12 Conference, the others being the Bears, the Longhorns, and the Red Raiders. Before joining the Big 12, Texas A&M was a charter member of the Southwest Conference from its start in 1914 until it dissolved in 1996.

The Texas A&M Aggies play their football home games at the 80,000 seat Kyle Stadium, and their basketball home games at the 12,500 seat Reed Arena. The team uniform colors are maroon and white, and the mascot is Reveille the Collie.

Football:

Established in 1894, the Texas A&M Aggies football program boast an all-time record of 659-433-48 (.599). In postseason bowl games, they have a 13-17 record, and have one claimed national title in 1939. In 1998, they won their latest of 19 conference titles.

Entering his 2nd season with the team, Mike Sherman looks to lead his team to a more successful campaign than his 4-8 record in his college head coaching debut. He is best known as the former coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2000-2005. He has installed a run-heavy offense, similar to the one which he featured in the NFL.

Currently, 22 former Aggies play in the NFL, including Geoff Hangartner (Buffalo Bills), Shane Lechler (Oakland Raiders), Ty Warren (New England Patriots) and Pat Williams (Minnesota Vikings)

Texas A&M maintains fierce rivalries against the Texas Longhorns, Baylor Bears, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Arkansas Razorbacks. Purchase your tickets and watch Mike Sherman and his crew get down to business this year.

Basketball:

The Texas A&M Aggies have never won a Big 12 tournament title or a Big 12 regular season title, though they have won 11 Southwest Conference championships and 2 Southwest Conference tournament titles. They have never won an NCAA Championship, though they have appeared in the tournament 10 times. In 97 years of play, the Aggies' all-time record is 1,225 wins and 1,173 losses (.511).

Mark Turgeon is entering his 3rd season at the helm and has taken them to the second round of the NCAA postseason for two straight years. Turgeon came to Texas A&M after a 7-year head coaching stint at Wichita State.

Just passed recently (on February 8, 2007) was the Aggie's legendary head coach for 26 years (1963-1990), Dr. Shelby Metcalf who, in that time, led the team to their first conference title in 13 years, followed by 5 more conference titles, 2 conference tournament titles, 4 NIT (National Invitation Tournament) appearances, and 6 NCAA tournament appearances. He will be greatly missed.

In 2008-09, the Texas A&M Aggies finished tied for 4th in the Big 12 Conference, posting 9 wins and 7 losses (.563), with an overall 2008-09 NCAA record of 24 wins and 10 losses (.706). Get your Texas A&M Aggies tickets now and see how college basketball is really played.
