Seattle Seahawks Tickets Information

The Seattle Seahawks are one of 4 teams in the National Football Conference West Division (NFC West) – along with the Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, and San Francisco 49ers – and one of 16 teams in the NFC which in turn is one of the two conferences in the National Football League (NFL).

The Seattle Seahawks have been playing football since 1976, joining the NFL as an expansion team along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seahawks first played as part of the NFC West, but only for one season, switching to the AFC West in 1977 and remaining there up until 2001 when they finally switched back to the NFC West. They are the only pro football team ever to have played in both AFC and NFC championships.

The Seattle Seahawks won the 1988 and 1999 AFC West Division championships and the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 NFC West Division championships, as well as 1 NFC championship in 2005. The Seahawks have played in 1 Super Bowl, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Super Bowl XL.

For most of their career, the Seattle Seahawks have played their home games at the revered King County Domed Stadium (better known as the Kingdome), moving temporarily to Husky Stadium in 2000 and 2001 as the Kingdome underwent an overhaul, emerging as the 67,000+ seat Qwest Field where they play home games today.

The team uniform colors are navy blue, pacific blue, neon green, and white. They have two mascots – Taima, an auger hawk, and Blitz, a very big blue bird.

They are currently under the leadership of head coach Jim Mora who is in his first season at the helm. Before his job with the Seahawks, he was head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, and also participated in coaching roles with the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers.

A number of Seahawks have earned their way into the pro football history books, including the following who have been honored by entry into NFL Hall of Fame: defensive end Carl Eller (2004), running back Franco Harris (1990), wide receiver Steve Largent (1995), and quarterback Warren Moon (2006). The team has also honored the following members with entry in the esteemed Seahawks Ring of Honor: cornerback Dave Brown, safety Kenny Easley, defensive end Jacob Green, defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, quarterback Dave Krieg, running back Curt Warner, quarterback Jim Zorn, head coach Chuck Knox, and the voice of the Seattle Seahawks, Pete Gross. The Seahawks have retired jersey number 12 in honor of the fans, the so-called “12th man”.

The Seattle Seahawks finished out 2008/2009 with a .250 regular season record (4 wins, 12 losses). Get your Seattle Seahawks tickets and help them turn it around.
