The Oregon State Beavers are one of 10 teams in the Pacific Ten Conference - along with the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Washington Huskies, and Washington State Cougars.

The Oregon State Beavers are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, one of 8 public universities in the Pac-10, and one of 2 from the state of Oregon, the other being their #1 rivals, the University of Oregon. They are two of the university's 17 varsity teams. (7 men's, 10 women's)

The Oregon State Beavers play their football home games at the 45,674 seat Reser Stadium and their basketball home games at the 10,400 seat Gill Coliseum. The team uniform colors are orange and black.

Football:

The Oregon State Beavers football program first fielded an organizational football team in 1893, and has since compiled a 487-526-50 overall record, including a 10-4 mark in postseason bowl games, and 5 conference titles. However, they have yet to win a national championship.

Head coach Mike Riley is entering his 7th season at Oregon State in 2009. He has led the team to a 56-42 record in his two stints as head coach (from 1997-1998, and 2003 on). He is known for his considerable coaching experience, having spent time in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers, and in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, both as head coach. Riley has a perfect 5-0 NCAA football bowl record as head coach, and most recently was victorious in the 2008 Sun Bowl against Pittsburgh.

There are several former Beavers currently playing in the NFL. Notable players include Derek Anderson (Cleveland Browns), T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Seattle Seahawks), Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati Bengals), Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams), Nick Barnett (Green Bay Packers) and Keith Ellison (Buffalo Bills).

The Beavers finished with a 9-4 record in 2008 which culminated with their victory in the Sun Bowl. The team finished #24 in the final coaches poll of the season and are poised to build on their success from last year. Ensure that you get a seat at Reser Stadium this year by getting your tickets soon.

Basketball:

Currently in his 2nd season as part of "Beaver Nation" is head coach Craig Robinson, who led his team to a College Basketball Invitational title last year, his first year in charge.

The Oregon State Beavers have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including Miami Heat legends Gary Payton, a 9-time All-Star, and "Iron Man" A.C. Green who holds the record for playing the most consecutive games of any player in NBA and ABA history.

Of the 9 Pac-10 championship tournaments that took place since 1987, the Oregon State Beavers have yet to win a Pac-10 tournament title. They've won 6 regular season championships as part of the Athletic Association of Western Universities/Pacific-8/Pac-10 (AAWU/Pac-8/Pac-10), including 3 out of 4 between 1980 and 1984, and prior to 1960 won 6 as part of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC).
