Oklahoma State University Cowboys Tickets Information

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are one of 12 teams in the Big 12 Conference and one of 6 - along with the Baylor Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas Tech Red Raiders - that play in the South Division.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys play their football home games at 60,000 seat Boone Pickens Stadium and their basketball home games at the 13,611 seat Gallagher-Iba Arena. The team also known as the Pokes and the Aggies (that's the Oklahoma Aggies, not to be confused with the Texas A&M Aggies) wears uniforms the colors orange and black, and the team mascot is Pistol Pete.

Football:

The Oklahoma State Cowboys played their first game in 1915 and have achieved a 500-515-47 (.492) record since. Coach Mike Gundy, well-known for his tirade against a journalist who wrote a critical story about one of his players, has had success since being hired as head coach. He is entering his fifth year as coach of the team and has led them to a 27-23 record and 2-1 in bowl games.

Although Gundy’s outburst has brought national attention to Oklahoma State, the team may be better known for producing NFL Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders. Sanders set NCAA records during his stint at Oklahoma State, and went on to a prolific career as an NFL tailback. Oklahoma became known as “Tailback U” after producing successful NFL running backs such as Sanders, Thurman Thomas, Terry Miller, Bob Fenimore and Tatum Bell.

Oklahoma State finished the 2008 regular season with a 9-3 record, culminating in a loss at the Holiday Bowl to Oregon Ducks. Purchase your Cowboys tickets and see if they can add to their 10 conference championships this year.

Basketball:

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including the following former players currently playing in the NBA (National Basketball Association): Tony Allen (Boston Celtics), Stephen Graham (Indiana Pacers) and Joey Graham. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have won two consecutive Big 12 tournament titles (in 2004 against the Texas Longhorns, 65-49, and in 2005 against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 72-68). They've also won one Big 12 regular season title, in 2004. And they have won 2 consecutive NCAA Championships (in 1945 and 1946). In 100 years of play, the Cowboys' all-time record is 1,452 wins and 1,018 losses (.588).

Travis Ford is entering his second season as head coach of the Cowboys. His first season was a relatively successful one, as the team finished 4th in the conference and made it to the second round of the postseason.

In 2008-09 the Oklahoma State Cowboys tied for 4th in the Big 12 Conference, posting 9 wins and 7 losses (.563), with an overall 2008-09 NCAA record of 23 wins and 12 losses (.657). Don't be left out in the parking lot with your Oklahoma State Cowboys tickets. Get 'em here, and get 'em now.
