The Ohio State Buckeyes are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, one of 9 public universities in the Big Ten. They are two of the university's 34 varsity teams. The Buckeyes joined the Big Ten conference in 1912.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (also known as simply "The Bucks") play their football home games at the 102,329 seat Ohio Stadium and their basketball home games at the 19,500 seat Value City Arena. The team uniform colors are scarlet and gray, and their mascot is Brutus Buckeye.

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ first season was in 1890, and since their creation, they have become one of the most successful football programs in the NCAA. They boast an all-time record of 808-305-53 (.716), an 18-22 postseason bowl record, 7 claimed national titles and 35 conference titles (including 33 Big Ten titles).

Head coach Jim Tressel is entering his 9th season and has achieved an impressive record of 83-18. Since becoming coach, he has played in 3 national championship games (winning one in 2002), achieving the first 14-0 record in major college football since Penn State went 15-0 in 1897.
