MLB All-Star Game Tickets Information

The very first Major League Baseball All-Star Game, pitting players from multiple American League teams and players from various National League teams against one another - was played at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, Illinois. The manager of each year's All-Star Game is the manager of the team winning the previous year's World Series. Currently, the starting position players of the 32-man team is chosen by fan vote and pitchers and reserve players are chosen by the manager. The game is scheduled at around the same time each year in order to approximate the halfway mark of the Major League Baseball season. Each year, one player is awarded the "Arch Ward Trophy" for Most Valuable Player.

The 2010 game will be the 3rd All-Star Game to be hosted by the city of Anaheim, California, which previously hosted the game in 1967 and 1989. This will also mark the second year in a row that the All-Star Game will be played at the ballpark of a National League team, in this case the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, last year being the St. Louis Cardinals.

The MLB All Star Game is always so much more than a game - it's an extravaganza that the whole family can enjoy! For one, there's the world's largest interactive baseball fan festival, the MLB All-Star Fanfest at the Anaheim Convention Center, expected to draw more than 110,000 people.

Holders of Major League Baseball All-Star Game tickets can also look forward to Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, also at Angels Stadium, featuring the Taco Bell Legends and Celebrity Softball Game - pitting Hall of Fame pro-baseball players against popular modern celebs - and the XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game - pitting some of tomorrow's favorites from the U.S. against a team of international rising stars.

And as if that weren't enough, you can also try your best to get in to the consistently sold out Gatorade All-Star Workout Day and the Home Run Derby, again all at Angels Stadium in beautiful Anaheim.

So far in MLB All-Star Game history, the American League team has won 38 of 80 games and the National League team has won 40, with 2 ties. The National League's longest All-Star Game winning streak is 11 years running - from 1972 through 1982.

Comparatively, the American League has only notched 13 unbeaten years in a row - from 1997 through 2008 with one tie in 2002, but they've also dominated the contest since all the way back to 1988, losing just 3 games and tying just 1 in 19 years.

Can the American League continue their streak, or is it time for the National League to take back the Midsummer Classic title? The best and most enjoyable way to find out is to be there when it happens. Get your MLB All-Star Game tickets today.
