Marquette University Golden Eagles Tickets Information

Formerly the Marquette Warriors until 1994, the Marquette Golden Eagles are one of 16 teams in the Big East Conference - along with the Cincinnati Bearcats, Connecticut Huskies, DePaul Blue Demons, Georgetown Hoyas, Louisville Cardinals, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Pittsburgh Panthers, Providence Friars, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, St. John's Red Storm, Seton Hall Pirates, USF Bulls, Syracuse Orange, Villanova Wildcats, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Marquette Golden Eagles are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's basketball team for Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one of 9 private universities and one of 8 Catholic universities in the Big East. In their first season as part of the Big East - having joined in 2005 along with fellow former Conference USA members the University of Cincinnati, DePaul University, University of Louisville, and University of South Florida - the Golden Eagles notched 10 league wins, the most ever for a team in its first season with the Big East.

They are one of the university's 11 varsity teams. The school's biggest rivals include fellow Big East members Cincinnati, DePaul, and Pittsburgh, as well as out-of-conference rivals the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and University of Notre Dame.

The Marquette Golden Eagles play their home games at the 18,500 seat Bradley Center. The team uniform colors are blue and gold, and the mascot is, predictably, the Golden Eagle.

The Marquette Golden Eagles have a number of school heroes in their previous rosters including Steve Novak, currently on the NBA's L.A. Clippers as well as All-American Dwayne Wade, who went on to play with the Miami Heat. Marquette players whose jerseys have been retired, besides Wade (#3), were Dean Meminger (#14), Butch Lee (#15), Maurice Lucas (#20), George Thompson (#24), Maurice "Bo" Ellis (#31), Glenn "Doc" Rivers (also #31), Earl Tatum (#43), and Don Kojis (#44).

The Marquette Golden Eagles have never won a Big East tournament title or a Big East regular season title. They have made 27 NCAA tournament appearances.

In his 2nd season with the team, Buzz Williams is preparing for the upcoming season. In his first season at the helm, he led the Eagles to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

In 2008-09 the Marquette Golden Eagles finished with a 12-6 record in the Big East and 24-10 in the NCAA. To cheer them on to another winning season, get your Marquette Golden Eagles tickets today.
