Marilyn Manson Tickets Information

The man that Anton LaVey, founder of the irrepressible Church of Satan dubbed “Reverend Manson” got his name by juxtaposing parts of the names Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Manson – making a loud statement on the disquieting dualism of modern American society. After performing for a bit as Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, Trent Reznor, the brainchild behind Nine Inch Nails, took an avid interest in the performer and the band in 1993, offering them a contract under his Nothing Records label.

In 1998 Marilyn Manson published his autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, an unflinching recounting of the bizarre and outrageous experiences that defined him.

The Marilyn Manson band lineup has changed as frequently as their front person changes personality, with the current roster listing: Tim Skold on guitar, Rob Holliday on bass, Chris Vrenna on keyboard, and Ginger Fish on drums. A common occurrence in Marilyn Manson shows is to see band members change up the instruments they’re playing, trying their hands playing instruments other than their primary one, which always makes for a wild and eclectic evening’s entertainment.

The 2007 Marilyn Manson tour was in honor of their 6th studio album – "Eat Me, Drink Me" – an obvious “Alice in Wonderland” reference. So far this album has sold 20,000+ copies and has hit #8 in both the U.S. and U.K. The High End of Low is the 7th studio album by Marilyn Manson. Sean Beavan, who mixed Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Eat Me, Drink Me, is co-producer of the album along with Chris Vrenna. The album was released in the United Kingdom and the United States in 2009.

Before "Eat Me, Drink Me", Marilyn Manson released "The Golden Age of Grotesque" (2003), "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)" (2000), "Mechanical Animals" (1998), "Antichrist Superstar" (1996), and the Marilyn Manson debut album, "Portrait of an American Family" (1994). All of the first 5 Marilyn Manson albums went Gold at least, with 2 – Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals going Platinum.

Marilyn Manson also put out a couple of EPs – "Smells Like Children" (1996) and "Remix and Repent" (1997) – a Live album – "The Last Tour on Earth" (1999) – and a compilation album – "Lest We Forget" (2004).

Marilyn Manson has recorded acclaimed covers of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”, the Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (are made of this)”, and the Gloria Jones song made famous by Soft Cell “Tainted Love”.

Marilyn Manson tickets are currently on for North America dates on the 2009 tour. The North American leg of the tour is scheduled to run through Sep 17 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Joining Marilyn Manson on the tour will be opening act (and headliners in their own right), the heavy metal band Slayer. Take note, in fact, of who’s headlining which shows and who is the supporting act. Though the bulk of the dates scheduled have Marilyn Manson taking top billing, at least 3 performances find Slayer headlining and Marilyn Manson supporting. Either way, get your Marilyn Manson tickets now and be there when both of these powerhouse acts take to the stage.
