The Indiana Hoosiers i are one of 11 teams in the Big Ten Conference - along with the Illinois Fighting Illini, Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Northwestern Wildcats, Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Purdue Boilermakers, and Wisconsin Badgers.

The Indiana Hoosiers are the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) men's football and basketball teams for Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, one of 9 public universities in the Big Ten. They are one of the university's 24 varsity teams. The Hoosiers joined the Big Ten in 1899. They are one of 2 teams in the Big Ten from the state of Indiana, the others being the Purdue Boilermakers.

The Indiana Hoosiers play their football home games at the 53,500 seat Memorial Stadium and their basketball home games on the 17,456 seat Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall. The team uniform colors are cream and crimson.

Football:

The Indiana Hoosiers played their first college football game back in 1887, and have since played to a 433-591-44 (.405) all-time record. They have a 3-6 record in postseason bowl games and 2 conference titles. They have not won a national championship yet, but it may happen this year if you get your tickets.

Coach Bill Lynch is entering his 3rd season in charge of the Indiana Hoosiers and has a 10-15 overall record. In 2008, the Hoosiers finished with a 3-9 overall record and Lynch looks to help them bounce back to prominence.

Tom Crean is entering his second year as coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. He made a name for himself as head coach of Marquette from 1999-2008.

The Hoosiers have an ongoing rivalry with the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Historically, the Indiana Hoosiers were the very last NCAA men's basketball team to record an undefeated season, this in 1976 when they won 32 games and lost none.

As part of the Big Ten, they have won 5 NCAA championships, (most recently in 1987) the 3rd most in NCAA history, and 1 NIT championship (in 1979, against the Purdue Boilermakers, 53-52).
