Elton John Tickets Information

Sir Elton John is an English-born composer, pianist, and singer with five decades of musical performances under his belt. With more than 50 Top 40 hits and record sales of over 250 million, Elton John may best be known for his uniquely flamboyant fashion sense (those glasses are always a trip) and the theatricality with which he presents some of the world’s most treasured love songs, ballads, and toe-tapping, booty-shaking pop hits.

Elton John, along with Bernie Taupin, was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. He was knighted by the Queen of England in 1998, and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2004. His altered version of “Candle in the Wind”, in honor of the tragic death of Princess Diana, earned him the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for 1997.

Elton John songs are marked by gospel-toned chords, effusive orchestral arrangements, and his unmistakable tenor voice. Whether it’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, “Crocodile Rock”, “Bennie & the Jets”, “Your Song”, “Rocket Man”, “Take Me to the Pilot”, “Daniel”, “Sad Songs”, “I’m Still Standing”, “Grey Seal”, “The Bitch is Back”, or any of his many others, it seems everybody has an Elton John song on their own personal list of top 10 favorites.

In his expansive career, it could probably be said that Elton John has collaborated with more famous musicians than there are keys on a piano, including: John Lennon, Guns N’ Roses, Stevie Wonder, Queen, RuPaul, Tammy Wynette, K.D. Lang, Bonnie Raitt, Leonard Cohen, George Michael, Gladys Knight, Eminem, and more. But his most noteworthy collaboration might have been the Grammy winning (and groundbreaking) “We Are the World”. He also cowrote the songs (many of them Academy Award nominees) for Disney’s The Lion King (both the animated feature film and the Broadway show), as well as composed the Tony and Grammy Award-winning score for Disney’s Aida, and Dreamworks’ The Road to El Dorado, earning himself in 2006 the honored title of “Disney Legend”.

After three more successful studio albums in the 21st century, Songs from the West Coast, Peachtree Road, and his and Bernie Taupin’s sequel to Captain Fantastic called The Captain & the Kid, and following on the heels of a highly successful world tour for the latter, Elton celebrated his 60th birthday in 2007 with his landmark 60th performance at Madison Square Garden. Later that same year he participated in the moving Concert for Diana. He also gave 75 performances of his multimedia extravaganza, The Red Piano, at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

In September 2008, John announced in a GQ interview that he would embark on yet another revival of his acclaimed tour co-headlining with fellow legend, Billy Joel. As in the past, the program for these unparalleled performances will feature both Elton John and Billy Joel opening the show playing duets on twin pianos, followed by a pair of sets, each featuring one of the headliners on his own, ending with an encore that brings the pair back on stage along with both of their bands.

If you missed it the first time, you have your chance now to see the revival of this historic Face2Face concert in 2009. According to Billy and Elton both, this latest round of the Face2Face tour will run off and on for at least the next two years.

Tickets for both The Red Piano and Elton John & Billy Joel & Bands performances are on sale now. The tour hits the U.S. on November, 4, at the KeyArena in Seattle, WA and plays through November 20, at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, UT. Get your Elton John tickets now so that you don’t miss out on this legend’s latest tour.
