Carrie Underwood Tickets Information

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Carrie Underwood was salutatorian of her high school class, after which she went on to graduate from Northwestern State University magnum cum laude where she was belonged to the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and was a frequent local beauty pageant contestant, one year (2004) going all the way to runner-up for Miss NSU.

Arguably the most successful American Idol winner alongside season one champ Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood became a multi-platinum artist her first time out, with seven times platinum album “Some Hearts,” her debut solo album and its first single "Jesus Take the Wheel". It also gave us "Wasted", a Canadian hit "Don’t Forget to Remember Me", and her most successful single to date, "Before He Cheats". According to Nielsen Soundscan, the album became the fastest-selling country debut. It’s also the best-selling debut by an American Idol contestant and the best-selling solo debut by a female artist in the history of country music.

“Some Hearts” earned Underwood four Grammy Award nominations and two wins, “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” and “Best New Artist” (marking the first time an American Idol contestant received even a nomination in that category). Her “Song of the Year” nominated hit Jesus Take the Wheel also earned its writers the “Best Country Song” Grammy that year.

Her follow-up single for charity, I’ll Stand By You, also topped the Billboard Top 10.

In 2007, she released her second album “Carnival Ride”, selling, to date, three million copies and producing three country music #1 hits: Last Name, All-American Girl, and So Small. She also released a Christmas song, Do You Hear What I Hear?, that hit #2 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts.

In 2008, she repeated her Grammy winning feats winning “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” once more, and watching her songwriting team win that year’s “Best Country Song” Grammy for Before He Cheats.

In May of 2008, the down-home girl was honored by induction into the Grand Ole Opry. Other popular awards Carrie Underwood has won PETA’s “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian,” which she won twice, and Victoria’s Secret’s “Sexiest Female Musician,” as well as appearing two years in a row in People Magazine’s list of the world’s “Most Beautiful People” for 2007 and 2008. She’s won Teen Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Gospel Music Association Awards, CMT Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, America Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and more.

Her performing credits are as wide as her range, appearing on Saturday Night Live, performing for the troops in Tikrit, Iraq, and at the half-time show for the Thanksgiving Day football game in 2006.

Not including the American Idols Live! Tour 2005, the 2009 Carnival Ride Tour marks Carrie Underwood’s second big tour. Kicking off on June 24 at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana, the tour plays dates across the U.S. and Canada, ending August 31 at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois.
