Calgary Flames Tickets Information

They made it to the 1985-86, 1988-89, and 1989-90 Western Conference Championships and the 1987-88, 1988-89, 1989-90, 1993-94, 1994-95, and mostly recently the 2005-06 Northwestern Division Championships, and now they're looking for their next shot at the Cup.

Formerly the Atlanta Flames until leaving Atlanta, Georgia after 8 full seasons (later being replaced by the Atlanta Thrashers) the Calgary Flames are the only club in the NHL to have relocated from the United States to Canada.

Before setting up home in 1983 in the Penngrowth Olympic Saddledome on the eastern end of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede grounds, the Calgary Flames only lost 32 games in 3 full seasons at the Stampede Corral.

When, in 2003, All Star right wingman Jarome Iginla was named captain of the Calgary Flames, he became only the second player of African descent (his father being Nigerian, his mother Canadian) to become an NHL team captain.

Watch the Calgary Flames invigorated with the fresh influence of new coach Brent Sutter, the brother of General Manager Darryl Sutter. Along with Iginla, the Calgary Flames have made steps during last year’s trade deadline and free agency to make a run for the cup in 2009-10. With the acquisitions of Olli Jokinen and Jay Bouwmeester, along with Dion Phaneuf, Andre Roy, David Moss and Rene Bourque, the Calgary Flames should be competitive in the Western Conference for the next few years.

Goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff will also play a large role in the Flames’ 2009-10 plans. He won the Vezina Tophy in 2006 for Top Ice Hockey goaltender in the NHL and is oft-recognized as the team's backbone. Rookie Dion Phaneuf has a huge future on the Calgary Flames roster after becoming only the 3rd rookie defenceman (beside Barry Beck, then of the Colorado Rockies, and Brian Leetch, then of the New York Rangers) to score 20 goals in one season. Hockey's Future predicts Phaneuf will, at some time in his life, win the James Norris Memorial Trophy for Top Hockey Defenceman, If last season was any indication, it should happen sooner than later.

Come witness the infamous Battle of Alberta between the Flames and arch-rivals the Edmonton Oilers duking it out for another season. Get tickets for these Edmonton Oilers vs. Calgary Flames matchups or any other Flames games to experience some of the most avid hockey fans in the NHL.
