In 1924, the Boston Bruins were the very first of the aptly-named "Original Six" teams that, along with the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Detroit Red Wings, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the New York Rangers, made up, in the 25 years following the Great Depression, the National Hockey League in its entirety.

Boston Bruins Tickets Information

Since then, the Boston Bruins have won the Stanley Cup five times, in: 1928-29, 1938-39, 1940-41, 1969-70, and 1971-72.

Now the Boston Bruins share the NHL with 29 other teams and the Northeast Division with the 4 others: the Buffalo Sabres, the Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Many hockey fans believe that the greatest player of all time was Boston Bruins 35-year veteran, Bobby Orr. As any diehard Boston Bruins fans will tell you, number four Bobby Orr was signed by a Bruins scout at 12 years of age despite the fact that he couldn't officially join the team until he was 18.

The Bruins are coached by the experienced Claude Julien. Julien began his coaching career with the Montreal Canadiens, and also held a head coaching stint with the New Jersey Devils before landing in Boston. In his first season as Boston head coach (2007-08), he led the team back to the playoffs, but struggled with inconsistency due to injuries. However, in 2008-09, Julien led the team to a first place record in the Eastern Conference but unfortunately suffered an early playoff exit in the second round. His accomplishments did not go unnoticed as he took home the Jack Adams Award for most valuable coach.

On October 2, 2006, defenseman Zdeno Chara who has the singular distinction of being the tallest player (at 6'10") in the NHL, became the Boston Bruins Team Captain, a position that hadn't been filled since Joe Thornton was traded at the end of 2005 to the San Jose Sharks for defenseman Brad Stuart and forwards Marco Sturm and Wayne Primeau.

Another important acquisition from 2006 is Marc Savard, formerly of the Atlanta Thrashers. He has emerged as a consistent scoring threat and an all-star. The team also contains youth and toughness in the form of players such as Milan Lucic, Patrice Bergeron, Phil Kessel, David Krejci, and Blake Wheeler. With a young core of players, and the steady goaltending of all-star Tim Thomas, the Bruins are poised to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference again, and make a deeper run in the playoffs.

With your Boston Bruins tickets, you can come hear their renowned theme "Nutty", a rock instrumental version by The Ventures of the overture to the world famous Christmas Ballet, the Nutcracker, live and cheer this longest-standing of hockey franchises to victory.

To see them at their finest, get your home game Boston Bruins tickets for the TD Banknorth Garden (formerly known as the Fleet Center) in Boston, Massachusetts. Or scoop up some Boston Bruins tickets for their next away game nearest you.
