BCS National Championship Game Tickets Information

The Bowl Championship Series brings together the best of the NCAA Division 1-A football teams in the following conferences: Atlantic Coast Conference, Big East Conference, Big Ten Conference, Big 12 Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Pac-10 Conference, Southeastern Conference, Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference, as well as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Also known as the BCS Title Game, the BCS National Championship Game is the final game of the Bowl Championship Series and the determining event of the season’s NCAA Division 1-A football champions.

The first appearance of the BCS Title Game was in 1998, at the close of the 1998 college football season. It was then that Pacific 10 and Big Ten conferences along with the Rose Bowl game joined what was known then as the “Bowl Alliance” to form what’s now known as the Bowl Championship Series.

The winner of the BCS Title Game is declared National Champion in the season’s final poll of the USA Today Coaches Poll and awarded the American Football College Association AFCA National Championship Trophy, a Waterford Crystal football on an ebony base, valued at $30,000.

The 2006 season was the first season when the BCS National Championship Game was played as a separate event from the host bowl, played on the same field the week after New Year’s Day.

Last year at Land Shark Stadium in Miami, Florida, the Florida Gators continued their dominance in NCAA football, emerging victorious over #1 seeded Oklahoma, 24-14. It is the second time in 3 years that the Gators have taken the National Championship Trophy home.

After their victory at the BCS Championship game in 2006, the Gators were not ranked #1 but the consensus is that this season, the Gators will begin as the #1 seed and will be a force to be reckoned with. Will they win it again? All we can do is stay tuned and keep watching.

The FedEx BCS National Championship Game takes place on January 7, 2010 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and airs on FOX TV. But who wants to watch it on TV when you can see it live? Get your BCS National Championship tickets today.
