B.B. King spent the later part of the 20th century and the beginning of this one collaborating and performing with numerous mainstream pop and rock and roll names, like U2 (“When Love Comes to Town” off Rattle and Hum), Eric Clapton (“Riding With the King”), and even Grateful Dead-inspired jam band Phish.

In 2006, 80-year-old B.B. King did a series of “Farewell” tours to Europe and the U.K. The B.B. King Farewell Tour hit Great Britain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Brazil.

When not singing and playing music, B.B. King promotes music education with his active support of non-profit organization “Little Kids Rock”, committed to providing free music lessons and free musical instruments to public school kids throughout the country.
