Auburn University Tigers Tickets Information

Located in Auburn, Alabama and founded in 1856, Auburn University is one of the 12 current members of the NCAA Southeastern Conference, and one of 6 in the West Division. It is one of 2, along with the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, located in the great state of Alabama.

Auburn University has 18 intercollegiate varsity teams in 13 sports. Most of Auburn's teams, including their football and basketball teams are called the Tigers. The Auburn Tigers’ football stadium is the 87,000+ capacity Jordan-Hare Stadium and its basketball arena is the 10,500 capacity Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum. Auburn's school colors are burnt orange and navy blue.

Football:

Auburn has taken 3 NCAA Football National Championship titles, the last in 1993, but only officially claimed one, in 1957. Auburn has also taken 6 Southeastern Conference Football titles, the last in 2004 earned after achieving an undefeated record of 13-0. No less than 4 players from that year's team went on to be drafted by major league teams in the 2005 NFL Draft.

The Auburn Tigers have a fierce 112-game rivalry - known as The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry - with the University of Georgia Bulldogs. The Auburn Tigers also have a heated rivalry with the LSU Tigers (that's Louisiana State University). Auburn's permanent rival in the opposing East Division is the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

Two former Auburn Tigers, Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan, went on to win the NFL's Heisman Trophy. In fact, John Heisman, the man for whom the coveted trophy is named, was a coach at Auburn from 1895 to 1899.

Basketball:

Auburn has taken 2 Southeastern Conference regular season titles, the last in 1999, and 1 Southeastern Conference basketball championship, in 1985.

Numerous Auburn Tigers have gone on to achieve great success in the NBA, most notably Charles Barkley, legendary All-Star power forward and, as of 2006, Basketball Hall of Famer.

Head Coach Jeff Lebo has been a participant in NCAA Division 1 men's basketball - as player, assistant coach, or head coach – for over 20 years. In that time, he's led his teams to 9 conference championship titles - 3 as a player, 4 as an assistant coach, and 2 in the last 9 years as head coach. Get your Auburn Tigers tickets now and see what Lebo's got up his sleeve next.
