AC/DC Tickets Information

Formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, AC/DC’s high voltage rock 'n' roll continues to persevere around the world. They’ve sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, and in the U.S. alone, AC/DC has sold over 71 million albums, making AC/DC one of the five top-selling bands in the history of American music.

AC/DC band members have changed over the life of the band, but since 1980, the group includes Brian Johnson on lead vocals, Angus Young on lead guitar, Malcom Young on rhythm guitar, Cliff Williams on bass guitar, and Phil Rudd on drums.

Out of humble beginnings, AC/DC has grown into a show-stopping wonder known the world over. And except for Angus Young’s schoolboy uniform, which became a trademark of AC/DC concerts, they rose to fame without any gimmicks or pretence. They are a no-frills rock’n’roll band that likes to have fun, and it’s their down-to-earth attitude that has secured them a loyal fan base of millions.

Angus and Malcom Young migrated from Scotland to Sydney in 1963. It was here that they formed their rock’n’roll powerhouse, debuting their incomparable interlocking guitar sound. Calling themselves AC/DC, band members changed several times before they released their first album, High Voltage, in 1974, and T.N.T. in 1975, each album gaining silver, gold and platinum status in Australia. From here, the band started touring relentlessly, and by 1978, AC/DC concerts were one of the world’s hottest attractions.

Teaming up with producer Mutt Lange, they released their highly successful "Highway to Hell" album in 1979—the first AC/DC album to go gold in North America. But the following year, AC/DC nearly disbanded when their lead singer, Bon Scott, died after a night of heavy drinking. Refusing to concede, however, the band chose Brian Johnson as Scott’s replacement, and later that year, released Back in Black, one of the best-selling albums, in any musical genre, of all time, selling in excess of 49 million copies world wide and 22 million copies sold in the U.S., the fifth largest-selling album ever. Back In Black gave AC/DC a series of rock anthems that, to this day, are heard at every live show. “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Back in Black” and “Hells Bells” are three songs that you’ll hear at every AC/DC concert.

Over the next two decades, the band continued releasing best-selling albums, like "Who Made Who" (1986), "The Razor’s Edge" (1990), and "Ballbreaker" (1995), which were all successfully received, to varying degrees, and AC/DC tickets and tours were consistently sold-out.

In September of 2000, AC/DC was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, having their hands imprinted in front of the Guitar Center on Hollywood Boulevard. And in March of 2003, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

With the release of their 15th studio album, "Black Ice", their first studio album in 8 years, AC/DC is touring once again. The Black Ice World Tour, which kicked off in October 2008, is currently playing its European dates. It will be back in North America from July to September 2009; the tour will end in Australia in 2010. Many of the AC/DC concerts are already sold out, so if you want to see the thunder from down under, get your AC/DC tickets now, and prepare to be electrified!
